A San Francisco Tradition
Noe Valley Pet Company opened in 1999 on its original corner site at Church and Cesar Chavez Streets. The shop was begun by animal lovers Paula Harris and Celia Sack who deemed it a “mom and mom” store. (Celia and Paula also own Omnivore Books, one of a handful of culinary bookshops in the U.S., located just around the corner.)
Over the past 21 years, Noe Valley Pet Co. has grown to become a neighborhood institution, the go-to place to get a referral for a doting cat sitter or an exceptional dog trainer. Our vision remains to sell the highest quality products whether it’s sophisticated dog collars, natural pet foods, or utilitarian cat litter.

“Exceptional customer service. I go out of my way to come here and even spend a little more just because of how nice the owner is. They are always willing to offer suggestions and understand my concerns. Thank you!”

Our team prides themselves on their expert and friendly service, whether it’s advice on an individual pet’s diet or a cooling remedy for a skin hot spot. Most importantly we provide the best dog kisses and belly rubs!
